Pluto was named after a brother of Jupiter. Pluto was the Roman god of the dead. The Greeks called him Hades. Pluto ruled the underworld. He had a cap that made him invisible. Pluto is a good name for the dark, cold planet. The planet is as distant and unfamiliar as the underworld. Also, just as the god Pluto could make himself invisible, the planet is invisible to the naked eye.
